It's time to bring rigor and impact back into the power building ecosystem.
The challenges facing the movement field are well documented. Among them are a dearth of skilled and highly trained community organizers who are equipped to do the work most critical to our ability to wrestle our country from the throws of an authoritarian takeover. A 2022 report from Grassroots solutions highlights well this challenge:
The ability of an organization to build a powerful base is dependent on having organizers or trained members of the base engaging continuously in base building. The challenge of recruiting and retaining organizers is a constant issue and a barrier to base building.
